Can DATA Network bring lasting activity to Sui?

DATA Network plans to retire its independent chain and run its AI training data registry on Sui, with Walrus handling files. Sui Foundation is investing $30 million in the network. A registry that its backers say already records millions of receipts daily could bring activity to Sui; how much of that translates into recurring SUI demand remains an open question. Sui Foundation’s October 12 announcement says Trace, a rights registry for AI training data, is joining its stack. Walrus will store encrypted original files and Sui will record programmable rights and settlements. DATA Network’s own chain will eventually close.
